Island Strings 2 Day Fiddle Workshop       July 26th and 27th, 2012       9am to 1pm at Unitarian Universalist Church in Freeland (click for map). Have you ever wanted to play fiddle tunes?  Do you know how fun they are to play?  Come join us even if you’ve never played the violin before or have been playing for years.  Beginners to advanced students will learn the fundamentals of Scottish Fiddling.  You can advance your fiddle skills while enjoying summer on Beautiful Whidbey Island.   Click for passionate testimonials from Island Strings parents. Guitar and Cello parts taught in addition to violin and viola.   No experience necessary.  For ages 3 through adult.   Final performance on Friday, July 27th at 1:00pm   Beginner $30.00 (one hour each day), all others $75.00.  Need-based scholarships available.  Pre-registration required by July 13th.  After July 13th, tuition goes up $5.00 for beginners and $10.00 for all others.  Registration limit 25 students. Please arrive by 12:40pm for tuning. If you don't know it on your instrument, you can sing.   July 21-22 (Sat-Sun) -  Loganberry Festival At Greenbank Farms. We will perform from 10:00-10:20 am. Please arrive at 9:30pm. Held at Tilth Campus. Dinner will start at 5:30pm. Island Strings and Calyx will perform for an hour. For the list of tunes and other details, click here.     Aug 16-19 (Thu-Sun) - Island County Fair We will not perform this year.   Aug 19 (Sun) - Young Talented Fiddlers/Singers at Tilth Campus From noon to 2pm   Aug 22 (Wed) - Leonard & Linda's 50th Anniversary Party Held at Freeland Hall. Linda is a founder of Island Strings and we might perform at this event.
